Arguments against marriage equality are pretty familiar after all.

Coming off of that last post about how abortion can’t be compared to slavery: this comic, on the other hand, is an OK way to point out a parallel between a past race-based issue and a not-race-related present issue. Just a few decades ago, our country wouldn’t let two consenting adults get married because their skin color was different; now they won’t let two consenting adults get married because their gender ISN’T different. Those two scenarios are pretty similar. But comparing terminating a pregnancy to slavery? Not similar. At all.

Good article on the corporate tax rate proposals. They make a good point about the feasibility of really eliminating the tax credits for businesses. The proposals really do sound good but after reading this they’re not really likely.

Dear Mitt (can I call you Mitt?) -
Absolutely no election should be about “defeating” the current president. Elections should be about who will be the best at taking care of our country. If you’re only running to get Obama out of office, you have some severely skewed priorities.
This election is not a game, it’s our future.

Did Obama make the economy worse? Nope. He made it better.

thesoapboxschtick:

•The CBO found that Obama’s stimulus added between 1 million and 2 million jobs in 2009, and boosted the GDP between 1.5% to 3.5% higher than it would have been without the stimulus.

• According to monthly payroll statistics, we’ve gone from a loss of 818,000 jobs in Jan. 2009 (when Obama took office) to 16-straight months of positive job growth.

• In January of 2012, the economy added over 243,000 jobs. Making the unemployment rate drop to 8.3% (the lowest it’s been in 3 years)
